Being outside isn’t just about being in a new environment, but it’s also about creating an appreciation for nature and respect for the world around you. There are four places where you can go camping in San Cristobal:

  • Puerto Chino Beach
  • Puerto Grande Beach
  • Manglecito Beach
  • El Ceibo Tree House

For the first three camping areas, you need the authorization of the National Park Galapagos and you can’t go camping for more than 2 nights. Beware that the permit can’t be issued with less than two nights beforehand.

At El Ceibo tree house, the area that’s home to the largest tree on the island, you can camp for $5 a night. Camping can also be done in the area of private farms that preform activities such as horseback riding, reforestation and canopying with prior coordination with the owners of the establishments.
